Ovacyte Pet
AI-powered point-of-care parasitology analyzer for dogs and cats
Actionable, lab-standard results. In-clinic. In real-time. OvaCyte Pet is an automated, point-of-care system that uses digital image analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and count intestinal parasite eggs and oocysts in dogs and cats.
OvaCyte Pet is as easy as A, B, C: sample preparation takes only 60 seconds, with no weighing required, while the rest of the process — scanning, analysis and reporting — is fully automated.
Advantages
Fast sample prep
Our OvaPrep tool makes sample preparation extremely easy, clean and quick, requiring only 60 seconds of your time — no weighing required.
Results in minutes
Results and all scan images are available on the OvaCyte web application on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
AI-powered software
The AI-powered image recognition software identifies parasite species from a library and counts the number of eggs or oocysts present, removing the need for manual microscopy.
OvaCyte Pet is as easy as A, B, C
- 1 A. Sample prep — our OvaPrep tool makes it easy: use the tool to obtain the fecal sample, no weighing required. Insert into the device, add flotation fluid and remove with a syringe, then insert into the cassette.
- 2 B. Load and go! — load the cassette onto the OvaCyte Pet Fecal Analyzer and start the scan. Scanning, analysis and reporting are fully automated, and the AI-powered image recognition software identifies parasite species and counts the eggs or oocysts present.
- 3 C. Results in minutes — within a few minutes, the results and all scan images are available on the OvaCyte web application on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
- • Analysis takes between 5 and 20 minutes, with markedly higher sensitivity than traditional passive flotation and centrifugation methods.
- • Captured images are sent to the cloud, where AI compares every object in the image against an internal library of over 1 million images and 150,000 tagged parasites; eggs and oocysts are automatically tagged, counted and reported.
